Rattlesnakes appear when you least expect them. The last thing that hikers at nearly 7000' elevation expect to see is a rattler on the trail. But that was exactly what recently happened. When local hikers saw a Western Rattlesnake right next to the main route. "Having lived in this area most of my life, I have encountered at least a dozen Rattlesnakes in various places ranging from our local foothills to my very own back yard. Please make sure your dog is fully vaccinated if you live or walk in the mountains and hills around San Bernardino. We have vaccine in stock at Animal Care Wellness Center. Please be safe and protect your family too! Talk to your children about the danger of snakebites. Snakes will bite if startled or threatened. They can strike the length of their body if coiled up... and snakebites are dangerous even if they come from a non-poisonous snake such as a King snake or Gopher snake. If you have a snake in your yard, tell your children to stay away. Our local Animal Control officers will be happy to help remove the snake". Dr. DiCarlo
